Yamanas

Yamanas were the indians who lived at the shore of the Beagle channel in Tierra del Fuego. They were nomadic and lived in perfect harmony with the rought nature. Charles Darwin maintained they were very primitive and used them for his theory of evolution. I personally disagree completely but thats another point. My wife, Edith Pancotti did a lot of reseach and re - constructed a lot of objects used by this culture in the more or less 7000 years they lived in these area. One really remarkable is the canoe used by these people. It is made with the bark of a tree (nothofagus betuloide). These photos are just an example of a small part of this work.
