| Jeber allows photos as large as 1200 <pixels> on the longest size. But they also are required to be at least 800 pixels on one side. Images larger than 1200 have to be reduced in size in order to fit on the screen, thus unnecessarily take up storage space on the site. Images smaller than 800 pixels are just too small to be easily seen on the screen. Long/thin or tall/thin (panoramas) are permitted as long as the dimension of the longer side fits within the 800/1200 limits. There are various software editors that one can use to resize their file prior to uploading. Further posts will deal with 'how to' with each. | ||

| IRFANVIEW If you use a PC, I highly suggest you download a free copy of Irfanview www.irfanview.com (If you like it and use it a lot, register and send a donation.) To Resize your images... Under 'File' 'Batch Conversion/Rename' 'Advanced Options' 'Preserve aspect ratio' (If you desire, and you probably do.) 'Use resample' (Better quality output.) Set either pixel size to 1200 for the longest dimension. 'OK' Add photos (You will need to resize horizontal images separately from vertical images.) 'Copy input files to output directory' I often create a sub-folder named something such as ‘xxx/1200’ inside the original ‘xxx’ folder. 'Start' Then <Sharpen> your images, at least check the sharpening. It's generally needed after resizing. Note: www.image-resizer.com - is an alternative which is useful for batch resizing, and can be put on a floppy/memory card and taken on the road. [Edited: 12:48 - Ali - links + image resizer] | ||
