How this feature works...

Here's where to discuss how the feature will evolve....

Need at 'Stuff needed' list.

Here's my idea.

Someone picks an item and writes a 'help topic' to cover it.

That draft is the first post in a thread.  Others post additions/corrections/suggestions as needed.

If the thread gets messy the OP is offered an opportunity to write a new version incorporating the additional input.

If the OP doesn't do a re-write within a reasonable period of time someone else does the new version.

Probably should recognize that there will be multiple opinions on some things.  Just recognize them and let the reader pick what seems best to them.

Missing 'help' links...

How about some format that one could use that would take the reader to place that explains what is needed and how to provide it?

For example, links that have (some/partial) answers, e.g., resizing would appear in the text as resizing or underlined.

Link that have no answer yet would appear the same way with an additional symbol after them - sharpening (*).

Then, given some additional programming, once something moves from the 'Need to work on' list to the 'Help' section software could sweep the text available and remove the '(*)'.

I think this is a great idea. Will have to include the ability to include graphics as well - that way members can contribute specific information for Photoshop, Paintshop etc - shots of the menus and interfaces that appear.

The missing information - similar to the !title! thing that I have going in the back end and the wiki concept with the red links. Maybe including a [help=photoshop sharpening] in the help text could lead to a red linked "photoshop sharpening" going to a - message about help on how to do this is required.

Once the Jeber system is more settled then the same can be done here; not much point making screenshots of something is changing daily.

Graphics ability - Yes.

One could also include before/after examples.

Missing - yes.

Some links would take one to information already posted and there would be the ability to discuss/question/suggest.

Other links would take one to a 'how to create this information' page.

There should also be a 'stuff not answered' type page where there would be a list of those 'unfulfilled' links.  One could scan the list and 'click to add' info if they desired.

Adding info to a link should change the form of that link everywhere it occurs and remove the term from the 'unfulfilled' page.

And that new info link should appear on a 'check this' list for the Mods.
