| Can anyone advise me on the best method for lighting multiple ethnicities in a single shot? I know that a broad light source is best - any other advice? | ||

| I'm just firing shots at random here - certainly don't have any real knowledge.... Seems like I've seen something about needing to over expose a bit if you're shooting people with very dark skin. Shadow detail is more important here than it might otherwise be. Check your post-shot histogram and really push the distribution to the right as much as possible without blowing out the highlights. Bracket. Color balance might be tricky. Because of both of these you might want to shoot in RAW which will (at least with my dSLR) give you more dynamic range, more ability to maintain shadow detail and highlight detail. RAW will also give you more control over white balance adjustment when editing. Very dark skin might require additional light. Perhaps a small reflector? | ||

| Perhaps using reflectors but aim to reflect more light towards the darken toned skin and less towards pale toned skin. I did a photography course and spent 1 night of that class in a studio (so i'm no expert), but i did notice the differences when using something as simple as a white pierce of cardboard to reflect light. | ||
