The Pig Limps Along...

Wondering how to increase participation.

We seem to have a few members who are participating on a regular basis.  Other folks come and go.  Some folks participate for a while, continue to look in, but cease contributing.

Any ideas as to what might be done to increase participation?

Any things that we are doing wrong or could do better?

Any ideas of how to acquire and hold more members?

i think you need to dedicate a reasonable amount of time and effort to get the most out of this club - its not for everyone.  many people are just looking somewhere to post their photos (for free).

hopefully with time the community will grow

My primary issue? No permanent cookies.

This means that every day I have to log in, I'd rather have an option to "remember me", since I'm almost always on my home machine. Keying my email and password every time I want to play is tedious, and doesn't exactly help my "?carpal tunnel?"

My secondary issue? Bugs.

For example, if I click on a workshop and I'm not logged in I get "Workshop Regitstration Required" (sic), doing this also gets me semi-logged in - I'm not actually logged in, but I can't logon unless I click Logout first... There's also the first post bug, which is irritating.

Tertiary? No images

It's fixed now, but it's very hard to get worked up about a photo site without any images ;p

Not sure what you mean about no cookies.

When the site comes up for me the username and password are displayed and all I have to do is click on the login button.  Same as LP/TT.

Bugs.  Nothing I can do about that one.  Sorry.

But we did get the images back.   ;o)

I agree with the above sentiments regarding the ammount of time it takes to be active.  I used to post regularly when I first joined, and had lots of time to do so, but schedule changes make it difficult for me to devote the time consistently good participation requires.  I definitly admire the standbys who keep this club running.  It does a service to us all.  I hope to resume regular posting/critique as soon as I am able to.  Until then, keep up the great work.

Cheers,

P
