| Hi- I just bought PE 4 yesterday. I've been using Photoshop Elements (the first version I think) for the last few years. Anyone have this new version? Do you like it? What's different/new? Any tips? Thanks! | ||

| I moved from PSE4 from PSE2. For me it's good and bad. The good: Shadows/Highlights Tool - Under Adjust Lighting. It allows you to underexpose bright daylight shots so that you don't blow out the skies. (Or expose for the sky might be a better way to look at it.) And then with the S/H tool you can pull lots of detail from the shadows. The Healing Brush - The 'band-aid' icon in the tool bar. Makes it easier to remove a scratch from a negative or power line. Easier than using the clone tool. The bad: Loosing the Browser. The organizer that replaced it makes my work flow awkward. I'd rather have a file of thumbnails showing and be able to click on the one that I want. I'm using PSE2 when I want to work on a full file of images and PSE4 when I want to do a 'special' job with a single image. I wish I had purchased PSE3 and expect that I'll look for an inexpensive copy before long. Sometimes upgrades can botch up a good thing. That's my take so far. Anyone else have any input? | ||
