| It\'s nice having some new people posting images. But along with posting comes the chore of critiquing. This site will work only if people get some feedback on their images and the only people who are going to do the critiquing are the posters. I\'d love to see the site get busier. Lots of good exchange over photos can be a great way for us all to learn and improve. I\'ve basically taken the position that I\'ll critique a few shots from new posters. If those members don\'t engage in a bit of discussion on those critiques and/or offer critiques to other members I don\'t do any more critiques for them. Don\'t worry if you don\'t have a lot to say at this point. You might start by going back to already reviewed shots and reading what has been said. Then state why you agree or don\'t agree with the posted comments. Don\'t worry about saying the wrong thing (but try to say it nicely). You may get some arguing with your opinion but that\'s a good way to learn. (I suppose that if anyone doesn\'t care to participate with critiquing but values my input they could contact me about my hourly rates.... ;o) | ||

| Thanks for your prompt comments to my initial photos, Bob. You are insightful and clearly have some solid photog experience that someone at my level can definitly benefit from. I have already learned new things by using this site. I will try to review at least one photo a day, as I agree that regular participation is the best way to keep myself active within the club, and also keep the club active with me. Now excuse me while I go watch a tremendous rain storm. [Edited: 23:12 - Peter ] | ||

| Let me bump this one up. Some of you are posting a lot of pictures but not lending a helping hand to other members. Sure would be nice if you'd chip in. Don't worry about not being a 'good critiquer'. You'll probably get better with practice. Start practicing. ;o) | ||

| Your point is well taken Bob. I have appreciated the comments and revisions that you and others have made of my own shots. Perhaps like Peter I feel I'm something of a newbie at this game and have been a bit shy about posting comments on other people's work, I'll try to get a bit more involved. I haven't submitted anything for review for a while and will refrain from doing so untill I've had a bit of a crack at this myself. | ||

| I'm certainly no expert photographer, like everyone here we enjoy photography which is the common element. So simple comments are fine. Sometimes just a comment like "the colours are a bit dull for me" might be all thats needed. I know on occasions i look at a photo and go something is not quite right. Maybe someone else can spot whats not right. The other thing i'll say is when you take a photo if you do things manually try different shutter speed, aperture, ISO, WB settings. I think you'll learn alot by doing this, I know I have. Then maybe post a version and post the second as an edit perhaps and we can compare them. | ||
