| I've been Googling my Sala Lanka image for the last few days and it doesn't show up. I'm guessing that Google isn't looking at the Jeber pages? Any way to bring them to Google's attention? | ||

| One of the ways google determines the importance of a website is by how many other websites are linking to it which in turn has spawned a whole industry of folks swapping links to get higher ranking in the search engines. I have the google toolbar installed which tells me that Jeber.com has a page rank of 1 which is of course better than nothing. At least they know it's out there. My own site's index page has the same rank though other pages on the site have got a PR3 (10 is highest, I think only google get's 10s!). Insanity We Trust just went up about a year ago so it's early days yet. Indeed the search engines are the key to a website's success. How exactly the Google search engine works is no doubt a jealously guarded secret but it's evident that links are a key factor. This is my first post on Jeber, I'm still finding my way around but it's nice to be on board. [Edited: 11:19 - Wei Long - spelling mistake] | ||

| Thanks for the info. I would imagine a '1' never gets indexed? I assigned a 'local' name to one of my flower photos on the SEA Flowers club. An image search won't find it. | ||

| Actually there is a zero page rank but even then it might show up in a search. I just did a search on "Jeber" and this site comes up first so it is definitely indexed. I imagine sites with a high ranking index page get priority when google update their search engines. Who knows? It's a bit of a guessing game. | ||
