Can anyone identify the species?

Found this guy protecting a puddle on a walk in the hills last weekend. Must have been about 4 inches long. I like this shot the most from the series I took as the head is in focus. It's possible to see the set of tiny cleaning legs cleaning the insects eye.

And Andy set this club up as a test... little did he know :) I have two lenses on my wish list - and one is a macro...
