Photographers Note:
Out shooting the Rally of Canberra over the weekend. Got several of Cars driving/flying over "The mineshaft", a jump with a 20 metre drop. Anyway this is one of the better ones.

The guys in the lower left aren't quite enough in the picture to be part of the story but in enough to be distracting.  How about a tighter crop which makes the car more dominate in the frame and moves it to a "power point"?

Also tweaked Levels to increase the 'blackness'.

Good shot! Shame the sun isn't out though - a nice shadow would really accentuate the airbourne nature of this one. Agree with bob about blackpoint and marshalls.

Another option for this would be shooting from a far lower angle - but I wouldn't like to try it myself ;)

I wonder whether a slower exposure and panning would work here? as an experiment you could always cut out the car, and use MotionBlur on the background.

Those lucky official photographers always got in my way :-) I actually have a series of these and also have a ready made tryptich i'm working on.
As for the sun it was early morning and you saw the mist on the emu photo...

Unfortunately at these events without a media pass its hard to change angles. When i compared my shots to the ones in the paper i was quite happy i had something different and just as dramatic as the pros took.
