| Russ Pearce (rrruss) Msg: #1 June 2nd 2007 14:40:40 | My latest panoramic offering. I love the colours in this and it really was this bright. My problem was that after using autostitch there were black spaces in the sky. I cloned colour into the space but the blending isn't great. Any tips for making the different blues blend in better? | |||||||||||||||||||||

Seems a bit bright here at the moment, but I'm not currently calibrated, so I suspect the problem's my end. Blending advice? Use a wide and very soft edged CloneTool, 50% or 33% - and take from both sides, that way you'll end up with an average :)

As for cloning i do something similar to Adrians idea, but also use blur a bit too especially on the edges. However if you also leave enough space at the top i crop the black parts out. The sky and in a few other rare cases can you clone over the black bits caused from stitching.
| Bob Wallace (BobTrips) Msg: #4 June 5th 2007 18:32:43 | Lots of nice about this one. But there's the 'unbalance' thing. It feels to me that if you were to print this one out and stick a pin through the exact center of the image it would tilt to the left due to the 'weight' of all the dark areas. The sun was working against you here. Lots of dark shadows on the left and almost none on the right. How about increasing the 'blackness' on the right and bring a bit more detail out of the shadow area on the left? Try using layers, make the R/L adjustments on separate layers and then blending them with the eraser tool. Composition. If there was a place to stand so that the road swung more back into the frame it might have been better. Or even getting up a bit higher so that one could see more of the road. I think the 'story' would be stronger. But, hey!, it's a nice pano. ;o) | |||||||||||||||||||||
