Do you have a similar shot in portrait orientation, with more of the tree showing? You could consider using a graduated gray filter to get more detail in the sky. | |||||||||||||||||||

I don't have a graduated neutral density but the next time I see these colors (they happen with some regularity in late summer) I think I'll take my tripod and get some bracketed shots and then see if I can make a blended image. The blown out sky is not nice. I also think I can find a better position for the tree. I think if I were closer and down the hill a big further. I never intended for them to be actual submissions, didn't see that much in them. But via a little bit of careful consideration and tinkering from others they've turned into decent images.
