Photographers Note:
The day was really bright which made this picture a tough one.  I sharpened it a bit and removed one artifact.  Do your worst!  :)

My worst is going to be pretty mild.  It's a nice shot.  Good color, good composition, good exposure.

If it was a 'posed' shot I would have moved the boat to lower in the left corner, it's a bit tight to the tree here.

And you might have over sharpened just a bit.  Look at the lower dark branches, along the ridge top, and see if you detect a sharpening halo.

I think the tree dominates a photo where i really love the lake and reflection..... Its very nic i just think i'd have preferred 2/3 of the shot of the ;lake and 1/3 of the tree. Not the other way around.
Maybe landscape orientation may have worked better here also....

Great points on all accounts.  Justin, you definitely made me look at the picture a second time and see something I missed.  I think it would have been better landscape.  Thanks for the advice!

Conversely, whilst I agree that less tree might be beneficial, I prefer the portrait orientation you've chosen.

If it had been mine, I think I'd have zoomed in on the boat a bit more - as I feel it's the focal point for the scene. Then it's a tough call between the beautiful autumn colours, and the reflections.

In summary, it's a lovely scene, but I think I'd have shot it lower tighter and slightly to the left.

Michael, I guess the thing we all learn on here is to not look at a subject the same way all the time. You see something, i see something, everyone else sees something. All those somethings are not the same.

Digital makes it so easy to try different things.

Yup - at the end of the day photography is subjective, there's no right or wrong answer - just more or less popular ones ;)
