yum...I love the intent, but it doesn't quite do it.  A larger pan, a wider perspective might work, but to create those Asian wood panels of Japan with a photo like the Shogun's master is tough.  I think it has to be absolutely perfect in order to be appreciated.  I want to see more mountains, more contrast, and a singular tree hangin' on to the edge with the wind swirling up from a thrashing wave. hah

OK, I can give you a wider shot, more mountains, crank up the contrast, but if you want the real thing please send me a nice big stack of cash and I'll speed off to Guilin.  ;o)

The mountains around Vang Vieng always remind me of that part of China when I see them, but I never thought about recreating one of those classic pieces of Chinese art.  That might be an interesting project.

Lovely shot. Consider converting it to B&W. Also wondering about cloning some of the shrubbery away from the base of the tree in the original version.
