hmm i like the subject and profile view. I'm just wondering if you used a wider aperture to narrow the DOF a tad bit more to blur the background a little more as its a minor distraction still due to the intricacy of carvings in the walls.

My attempt...  Somehow highlights the head with deeper greens and a slightly lighter background.  The details aside, interesting sculpture...I've been around in SE Asia but have never come across a 'pointed' nose version.

Thanks.  That version makes the Buddha stand out more from the background.  My largest criticism of the shot is how the background impinges on the statue.  I had been thinking about trying some selective blur on the background but your treatment works nicely.

Nice shot Bob! I think PeeWee's done a good job on the revision, much better IMO. Personally I wouldn't blur the background any further, as it gives "context" to the statue - if anything I'd like to see more of the structure.
