I think I've figured out why it isn't totally working for me. There's no 'main subject'. The man's face is so obscured that the picture doesn't seem a portrait. And his hand/the cigarette are so indistinct that they don't seem to be the subject either. The thing that hits me most in the frame is his elbow and I don't think that's what you were trying to show. Perhaps a less "stylized" version? | |||||||||||||||||||||
