The subject, the pose, the framing, the inclusion of the beads in the foreground, the monotonic presentation. What I don't care for is the blown out areas. Might I guess that they are due to extreme contrast boosting? If so, why not try a version where you hold the details in the highlights and just deepen the shadows? | |||||||||||||||||||||

There is the dark black background. And then on the opposite end of the spectrum, there is the blow out. And in between, coming up from the dark background to the lighted hand and beads, are the degrees of depth in between. I'll see what the other version might look like. | |||||||||||||||||||||

That is, unless you're trying to win a contest or make a sale. Then the job is to please your audience/judge/customer. I like seeing how you're starting with digital captures and pushing your images into more creative directions. Because I tend to make more "realistic" images my critiques will most likely come from that same sort of realistic point of view. Use them if they are useful to you.
