Think i got this pretty nicely......
I was trying out a 200 mm prime so couldn't fit the reflection in.

I like the pic. Did you take it in a church...there is this brooding church darkness here....

Things I like - the colours and the reflection. Things I'm less keen on - the large areas of black, and the way the reflection was cropped.

If you get the chance, try taking it again just after sunset - whilst the sky's still bluish. Blue would contrast really well with the golden yellow, and you'd also have some idea of the surroundings.

Not sure how to resolve the reflection crop - often I end up taking this sort of shot  vertically centred so you can enjoy both parts. that's not to say that you couldn't put it on a horizontal third instead ;)

Well captured!

I'm already thinking along those lines Adrian. Probably getting too warm now, but i wanted to get a photo at dawn with the mist on the lake... Having said that i'm going to try and get there before sunset. The reflection was cropped due to the fact i was using a 200mm prime and i was across the lake from it. i can get closer on the other side and use a wide angle i think. I've taken a few of the Carillion and each time i seem to get a better photo. I'm going to keep trying its like my little project and its a fairly photogenic structure.

For Peewee its not from a church. The Carillion is a fairly modern Belltower on a small island on the lake in Canberra. The british gave it to Canberra for its 50th anniversary as the Capital of Australia, which makes it about 44 yrs old as the centenary is 2013. If only i could get the bell sounds captured with the photo :-)
