agree about the area of overexposure. apart from that a great shot.  i've started making a big effort to think about potential areas of blown-out highlights in my photos.  underexposing a lot more - far fewer blow outs.
the full size image shows great texture of the sand and pebbles.

And bracket as much as possible.  (Assuming you're shooting digital.  It's free.)

Although I have to add that the blown out part doesn't bother me too much in this shot.  It's kind of an abstract anyway.

Bracketing, right.  Thanks.  I always seem to overlook that option.
