While you're doing the car why not do the dog too? Seen at a petrol station in Catalunya. Has anyone seen these in other places or is this a purely Spanish & Catalan thing?

This is a new one on me, so it probably is just a Spanish/Catalan thing. I've never seen any in France that I can recall, and they're pet mad...

Onto the photograph itself. It's an interesting documentary shot, but there are a number of distracting things from my perspective - firstly there's the flat white sky, then there's the slight rotation, and then there's the barrel distortion. Easiest option for the sky is simply cropping it, the rest are slightly, but only slightly, more complex.

So, what did I do? Cropped to remove the blown sky. Then rotated 0.62°CCW to correct the tilt, based on the underside of the dogwash lid - used the MeasureTool to draw along it, and then Rotate/Arbitrary to correct it.

Then I used the PanoTools plugin (free download here) to correct the minor barrel distortion - Radial shift, B, -0.015.

I hope you like it :)

OK, I wonder why that didn't work. Let me try again...

Oh and I forgot that I'd also ran Shadow/Highlights (Shadows +35) to bring out some more detail in the front of the machine.

A lot better, IMHO.  I think I'd have cropped tighter on the sides in order to bring the front of the machine into more dominance.

Thanks - I completely accept it's a pretty mindless snap. I wasn't thinking of it from a photo perspective at all, looks much better now :-) I might try and lose the sky completely, it's still a little bright.
