Very nice composition.  I really like the way that the 'old' is distorted by the 'new'.  Creates story and irony.

You've got a lot of nice rich color in the lower left but the upper right is just a little overexposed.   Think you could pull a bit more out of the original file?

I like the composition too. but as Bob said the clouds are overexposed. If it wasn't for the edge of the pyramid leading my eye directly to it it probably wouldn't be a problem.

I agree with the overexprosure.  It is meant to contrast the irony and metaphor of today's modern world (the overexposure above the Poi) and the beauty of the classics, when art was at the highpoint in the history of humanity (the sky and its perfection above the Louve).  The picture can be divided directly in two at this point, where the clouds become overexposure, washed-out, where they lose their detail and beauty, hence the reflection of the beauty on the new, the glass of the pyramid and its distortion.

I would have never considered that the blown out cloud area had meaning.  Do you think there is an appreciable audience who would "get it"?

That's a good question.  Maybe it would have to be in a book entitled "The Image Behind the Eye"
