Hand held from a rooftop bar. Unfortunately several buildings in the foreground made this a hard shot to frame.

Nice angle, interesting to my eyes.  At the risk of making it look too fake, I tried warming up the colors, sharpening the image, and then a bit of saturation.  This is what I came up with.  What do you think?

The colors are more striking in the second version, but I don't know how believable they are.

I think what keeps this image from being better is that the Opera House is not clearly standing out from the background.  A lower shot angle would have been better, I think.  Dropping the background shoreline in the frame and letting the structure protrude into the sky would have been more dramatic.

hmm i really liked the shadows on the Opera house. Unfortunately i wasn't wandering around the harbour to take photos, but more up there to visit a friend. Funny i live 3 hours away yet never find time to visit to get some really good photos!

Plus it was handheld, so alot of my other photos are a bit blurry.

The orange hues of the edit look great, maybe not believable but striking.

It's not the shadows on the OH that I was commenting on.  They are interesting.  It's the background.  Take a look at your other OH picture and see how the OH is framed against the sky.  Looks a lot more imposing from that angle to me.

Here's an alternative perspective - more modern art I guess.

Hard crop, then a little Curves to accentuate the contrast. Selective brightness adjust on the left sail and on the shrubs on the right.

Just an idea :)

I love the shadows on the original photo, depending on what you are trying to do I like the revisions also, but the original is the one that looks real.

yes i like the shadows too, i agree with Bob the shoreline is distracting. Next time i visit Sydney i'll try and see what other photos i can get and also get a few shots of the bridge.
