| Adrian Warren (AdrianW) Msg: #5 June 10th 2005 13:43:46 | OK, I take that back - the exposure is good, with the exception of the few very bright patches on the rooster himself. Those are a little bit overdone, maybe half a stop under might have been better. So, what have I done in this Workshop? First drew around the rooster with the Lasso, then NewLayerViaCopy. Then LoadSelection/Invert to get another layer with just the rooster on it. Next I moved the Rooster only layer to the top. Then I chopped off a bit from the bottom, and applied GaussianBlur 7.5px to the background layer. Created a copy of that, then cut some more off the bottom, and applied Gaussian Blur and Hue/Saturation -10. Then copied again, cut some more off and did the same again (Blur/Sat). The aim of the game is to simulate a shallower DOF than was actually there - I hope you like it :) |

| Campbell Keith (cam) Msg: #6 June 20th 2005 20:49:14 | Thanks guys, I'm going for a combination of Bobs crop and Adrians shallow DOF (not as much though. I like to see a bit of "context"). I'll post it up when I can | |||||||||||||||||||||
