Here's the B&W I did before posting the Blue & W.

I just did a Grayscale in PSP and boosted contrast a bit.

Wish there was some way to see this one side by side with Adrian's version.

Well, I found a way.  Obviously not a good way. Jpeg compression is a big problem.

Wish we could side by side the two images and see how A's more complicated technique yielded a better image.  (Or was it worth the effort?  Inquiring minds want to know.)

I wouldn't call it more complicated, since it's an action I've pre-recorded all it took was two clicks ;)

It really depends on what you want from the image though, my version has yielded a softer image than yours - I think mine has a certain old world charm, but you're the photographer...
