There is so much contrast in the scene, from the very bright sky to the people with dark skin standing in the shade, that there is almost no good way to expose the shot. I suppose the best way would be to hold the sky and then pull as much detail from the shadows during processing. The sky is so blown out (pure white) that the image bleeds into the page. I cropped away some of the totally white area and added a thin frame to delineate the image. I also played around with the Burn tool and Shadows/Highlights to see what more detail there might be available. You might be able to get a bit more from the original file. |

How far is the presented image from the original capture? You're obviously doing some heavy processing in your pictures. Perhaps if you included some 'notes of intention'? | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Cameron Karsten (cam2yogi) Msg: #3 July 1st 2006 21:43:27 | hmm...I've been looking over your revision, and I like it. I like the contrasts and the deepening blacks. But I was going for a more distant, washed out feel, the feeling I felt while in the region. I like the orgainal distance and lost-ness of the original. With yours I feel a closer portraiture that is equally beautiful, but not the way it was seen through my eyes, and felt through my heart. But I always appreciate the ideas, thoughts, revisions, and sharing from all perspectives. Thank yoU! | |||||||||||||||||||||
