Hi Bob...what I first noticed about this picture was the great texture around the whole eye area of this guy.  The detail is really nice, and I like how it is emphasized by the green background.  What I think you could do to make this stronger is to crop off the whole white neck section on the right...for me, it seems to throw the shot a bit off balance.  I also think that the richness of the shot is in the eye and beak, and that the neck sortof detracts from this.  Nice job in getting all of the scraggly and colorful detail of the face.  Also, did you ever notice the great big wood pigeons in the parks while in London?  I tried unsuccessfully to get a good shot of them on a number of occasions.  Very charming birds to me...like big, puffed up, unusually clean Victorian versions of the pigeons usually seen in cities.  They might make a good subject with the right equipment...you seem apt at getting good bird shots.

Sure is nice having 'repost' back.

I think you're right on the right side crop.  Thanks.  (I also boosted saturation some.)

Yea, I think this crop works a lot better than the original one did.  Nice shot.
