Photographers Note:
Postcard shot. I think everyone that passes through Copenhagen has this shot. But the colourful houses along the canal has a certain apeal. Pleased with the results that the 3.1mp Kodak manages to get - great for snaps.

Happy to see some imagination used on this shot :)

First - "postcard shot".  So what?  Sometimes what one sees is and wants to photograph would also make a good post card.  So take the damn picture.  ;o)

It takes a good eye to spot a good 'post card' and skills to consistently make good 'post cards'.  And if that's how you take home the memory, so be it.

If all one shoots is good post cards then their style might get boring.  But that's better than someone who shoots bad post cards.

Now the picture.  I can't see a lot of improvements that could be made.  If you cropped slightly on the left, eliminated that bit of building sticking into the shot then the image might have a feeling of 'going on forever'.

And the bird?  Bad timing on his part.  He should have gotten closer or left.  Might try cloning him gone.

The picture has a lot of color and good composition.  Good postcard.  And that's a compliment.

Thanks Bob... hopefully I'll be able to send a phostcard shot of croatia like this in a few days... for now - I made the suggested edits. Cloned out the sea gull, cropped without the building on the far left, and as I like this effect and wanted to try it... did a colour burn filter layer that is parallel to the line of the buildings and water. (Watching top gear on BBC prime - this is an effect the use on the videos of the cars a lot - the Brits know what I'm talking about)

Decided to try my hand at this one. So I brought in the wrecking ball and knocked down the tower in the far left. Shot the gull from the air.

Then I brightened things up a bit in order to see more details.

... in the pursuit of a more perfect post card.
