Photographers Note:
Here in the West we would never use blue drain pipe on our outdoor urinals. At least not in a temple complex.

Well - I can't believe I've just spent 20mins editing a picture of urinals :)

I've only seen urinals in as public a place as this at festivals in the west...

Here is a workshop:

I used the lasso tool to select the areas I consider to be the background, then blurred it. Then I reduced the saturation and lightness of the background - till I was happy with it.

Next I selected the entire image and increased the contrast by 6 and decreaced the brightness by 14. I think I have a bright high contrast monitor - so I hope it doesn't look too dark on others...

Hope you like the results - gets the eye focused on the topic of the photo anyway.

Thanks for the Re-edit.  Demonstrates that there are multiple valid versions of most photos.

I choose o leave the background unblurred as it helped set the 'context' in my mind.  Blurring focuses attention on the pee pots.  (Not that they don't grab your eyes anyway.  ;o)

BTW, I used the selection brush to make my selection of foreground/background.  In original capture the background was really bright and the foreground quite dark.  Case of bad lighting conditions - not being there at the right sun time.

Interesting shot Bob! I have to say that i prefer Ali's version, just a little bit. The blurred background gives it a little more depth, which i like.
