Another bogus - ignore.

Working on a system bug.  Will get back to this one.

The system is having some sort of weird problems with the larger sized version of this image.  I was going to try to download a copy and see if I could lighten the sculptures a bit, but....

These Chinese temple top dragons and stuff.  I've never been able to get an image that pleased me.  This one shows promise.  It's too bad you didn't get there just a bit earlier (assuming you were looking east) and catch the moon closer in for a tighter framing.

A strong fill-flash might have been good for this one.  You should be able to bring more light to the figures with some editing.

And the other thing that would have helped - looser framing.  I'm learning to frame my shot and then pull back a bit.  That leaves me some room for straightening and perspective shifts.  (It's a hard thing to remember after decades of shooting slides where one had no ability to edit.)

But you've got some good material with which to work.  And if you're not too tied to reality in your presentations you could move the moon closer and create an interesting pano.

I've made a version of this image which would no longer qualify as photo journalism... I moved the moon just a little... I also rotated the men to stand them straighter and added a border to cover my sloppy edging...

Hit the less than 800px down to 480px "feature" so here it is again with a resized canvas.

I like it.  (Would be nice to hear back from Craig.  This will teach him to leave his toys out and go elsewere.  ;o)

I can see playing with the moon position - looking for some 'angle' in the dragon that is completed by placing the moon in alignment.  Say with the upper jaw/nose....

And getting carried away, moving the dragon's pupil a bit so that he's 'looking at the moon'.

BTW, rather than increasing the canvas by adding a border you can uprez the image just as easily.  Noted in MHM.

Hi guys,

I've been busy processing stuff for stock, as well as designing a new website, so I've been a bit neglectful of the Blind Pigs. What a poor start I'm making :-) I like the "panaroma's,", Ali, nice work.

When I posted this, I couldn't work out how to post EXIF data, so here's a little more info. It was shot at 135mm (I was mainly street shooting that day, so left the longer stuff at home) Although on a Canon 20D, with the 1.6 crop factor, it makes it more like a 210mm. Or thereabouts.. The image I posted is close to a 100% crop.
