I really like the way the light streams through the clouds.  The reflection in the lower center is distracting. . . I'm sure someone better with Photoshop can adjust it.  I did very slightly change the levels and apply a dark blue photo filter at 25% to simulate a polarizer.  Pretty subtle.  Might be a tad too dark, what do you think?

I like the colors in Edward's revision, especially the patch of water just above the right side of the sand bar.  It's a good picture, I like the way my eye is led from front center along a wandering line by the light.

I'm not that pleased by the just left of center patch of dark cloud.  I keep looking up there sort of expecting to see something.  Wonder how it would work to lighten it a bit?

OK, I took Edward's version, cloned in some lighter cloud and tried a contrast boost.  Don't know how far we're getting from Buzz's reality here.  We'll have to leave it up to him to decide what he remembers.  ;o)

(Buzz  - if you hit Reply in the bottom right corner you'll get this interesting screen that lets you look at any two versions side-by-side via a set of sliders.)

I agree with you guys about that dark cloud, but I am not sure how to lighten that up without messing too much with the rest of the shot.  That is an interesting revision Bob - I like how your change seems to "magnify" the rays of light coming through the clouds.  I tried cropping the sky out all together but that made it look horrible.  I ended up printing this one out and framing it in a nice tan-sand colored frame - looks pretty dang good for a guy who has trouble remembering which way to point the camera...
