I shot this pano while standing about 50 feet down my driveway.  In the center of the shot is Chalk Mountain and the background King's Peak.

I'm posting this mostly to let folks know about a fantastic piece of software that Adrian told me about.

I shot this with a simple compact, a Fuji F10.  That meant that I couldn't lock the exposure settings so the color/lightness doesn't match from frame to frame.

Autostitch (www.autostitch.net) did a wonderful job of aligning and matching the frames.  All one needs to do is select the frames and push a button.

Yes i have used autostitch and also the demo of panorama factory. I always try and get a few panoramas when travelling. Put them together at home and amazing how it reminds you of the moment you took the photo.
I have to say i love the view you have. Makes the view from my house very small, along with the mountains we have in Australia. Although in winter i can see snow for sometimes a few weeks in the year.

Great photo.  What an impressive view to have from your front yard!  I've been taking lots of stitched panoramic shots, but I haven't had a chance to paste any of them together yet.  Seeing this makes me want to spend about three days on Photoshop.

Thanks.  Wait until later when I can shoot some sunset panos.  ;o)

I wouldn't bother doing stitching with Photoshop.  AutoStitch works much, much better.  It will equalize the exposure from frame to frame if you happened to blow it.  And seems to be able to stitch frames with which PS struggles.  (And it seems quicker.)

Maybe we can have a favourite free tools sticky thread in the forum. I noticed another workshop mentioning web based photo editors and portable GIMP.

Justin, good idea - but why restrict it to free tools? Any useful tools would be good for most people, if they need them enough ;)
