Taken at the royal palace in Seoul - I tried to grab the shot with no one in it, but I think I like it better with the people.

I like the way you've seen the pattern in these roofs.  I've looked at this shot a few times trying to see some way that you could have shot it so that they formed a repeating overlapping pattern but I just can't see it.  Let's blame the architects for failing to design a great picture.

The people help to give it scale and introduce another element of interest.  Too bad you weren't there on New Years Day when the young women visit the palaces in their colorful hanboks.

I think you could improve this picture by adding a bit of color to the sky.  Or putting a simple frame around it.  A frame would keep the picture from bleeding into the background.

Good focus and exposure.

I like this one :) As Bob mentions, the zig-zag pattern of the rooves is excellent. I think if I'd taken this one I'd have zoomed in a bit tighter and moved the camera down just a fraction - since the sky is the least interesting element.

I disagree with Bob about the sky though - very pale works well here, if it were grey or blue you wouldn't have so much contrast with the rooves...

Posted you a little workshop - I hope you don't mind.

Process: Cropped to reduce the sky. Ran Shadows/Highlights to bring out the shadow detail under the eaves a bit more and tone down the brighter areas a bit (s/h 45%/55%). Used an s-shaped Curve to add a bit more apparent contrast. Used the high-pass sharpening technique (per luminous-landscape.com) merge @ 45% to bring out a bit more detail and increase the contrast a fraction more again.

Finally added a simple frame as suggested by Bob - using CanvasSize

Down and right, I think, would have been best.  You might have been able to open the distance (sky) between the roofs.  And you have shown more of the people.

I like Adrian's color/contrast fix and think the frame helps a lot.  My preference would be for a thinner frame, especially on a display/workshop site such as this.  Frames can eat up important and limited display space.
