A quick 1 min PS job. I used the patch and clone tools on the glasses, then selected the monk using the magnetic lasso and a Wacom pad. Inversed the selection and applied a gaussian blur to the background, then reselcted the monk and added a little sharpening.

Thanks.  That helps separate the statue from the background.  Something else that might also have worked is to drop the background brightness a bit.
