Photographers Note:
The big Buddha at Baguashan (Mt Bagua) is 22m high and is the biggest Buddha in Taiwan. As a plus, I can see it from my kitchen window.

PP - I used a couple of layer masks. Curves for the sky, levels and curves for the Buddha.

Huh? The camera coming up in the data is a Dynax300si. That's wrong - I selected Canon 20D.

Craig, very cool picture, nice job.  I think Buddha could be lightened up a bit to bring out a bit more detail otherwise perfect.

I agree with Camille, a bit more brightness on the Buddha should bring out more detail.

And think about using a bit of perspective shift.  Look at the bottom step, it's not quite level and that distortion seems to carry through the statue.  When I first looked at the image it seemed that the statue was leaning a bit back and to the left of the frame.

Also the frame.  We are limited in display size on the page.  Using a big frame reduces the actual image size.  Not a big problem in this case, just something to keep in mind.

I did a quick and dirty workshop.  Didn't get the perspective shift quite right, went a bit too far the other way, but you should be able to see what I suggested.

I used the dodge tool to slightly brighten the statue.

I also cropped off a bit of sky to see if that made the statue seem more massive.

Looking at the 'larger' version - the frame less one - I think it would help to slightly darken and blur the buildings in the background.
