Photographers Note:
The big Buddha at Baguashan (Mt Bagua) is 22m high and is the biggest Buddha in Taiwan. As a plus, I can see it from my kitchen window.

PP - I used a couple of layer masks. Curves for the sky, levels and curves for the Buddha.

I did a quick and dirty workshop.  Didn't get the perspective shift quite right, went a bit too far the other way, but you should be able to see what I suggested.

I used the dodge tool to slightly brighten the statue.  

I also cropped off a bit of sky to see if that made the statue seem more massive.

Looking at the 'larger' version - the frame less one - I think it would help to slightly darken and blur the buildings in the background.
