| Tannis McCartney (tannismc) Msg: #1 September 9th 2005 23:31:49 | I really like this photo Bob. You did a great job lining up the dragons eyes in the points of interest (from the rule of thirds). I tried cropping a bit from the top and right side to see how it would look, but I think your original framing works better. I tried a couple of other subtle things to bring out the reds even more: I added a #85 warming filter at 25% density; increased the red in the highlights, and increased the saturation very slightly. These are really subtle changes, just trying to ehance a fantastic shot! (And I forgot to grab the full image for editing--oops). |

| Bob Wallace (BobTrips) Msg: #2 September 13th 2005 00:41:36 | Thanks Tannis, Your version looks much nicer, makes mine look a bit muddy. Your version is more vibrant. It's closer to the feel that I get from a Thai temple on a sunny day. I think I would leave the right side untouched and crop somewhere between your version and my version on a 'next try'. (Sorry for having taken so long to get back to you, I was away for a few days.) | |||||||||||||||||||||

I've got to make it over to Thailand myself one of these days... (No worries about not responding sooner--other than when I'm travelling, photography feels like a guilty pleasure that I try to sneak in when I can. I'm working on making more time for it though--it's one of the reasons I joined Jeber. I hope your recovery is going well! | |||||||||||||||||||||
