Nice to see the porker again.  Fits right in with my contemplation as to where to travel this winter.

If you boost the contrast a bit the gold will look 'richer'.

Good shot! Yup, the golden porker is indeed a welcome sight :)

Agree with Bob that a tad more apparent contrast might add a bit more bite to the gold - but remember that actually increasing the contrast (using Brightness/Contrast) might blow out shadows and highlights (and your highlights are already slight cooked), in this case (and most others) you\'d be better off using a s-shaped curve, since it\'ll leave the ends of the histogram unaffected. Thanks guys - the shades - well until I got there I was planning to climb up and put them on, but unfortunately he has about 10 feet of pedastool surrounded by incense and many other little pigs. Couldn't really clamber around on them... next time will bring an extendable grapple, should be back in about 5 months.

S curve - thanks for the tip Adrian - will try these changes when I get a little time with just me and photoshop.

I assume you're kidding about messing with the pig.  But just in case - climbing on or adding to might be taken very badly by the locals.

I'm not sure why this statue is venerated.  I'll have to ask around the next time I'm in town.

Used to be that the temple on top of Doi Suthep, outside of Chiang Mai, had framed pictures of chickens and some chicken statues but they seem to have disappeared.

Strange things, we humans do.
