Nice shot! I particularly like the vivid, almost aquamarine, colour of the water here. The boats add an extra element too, and the arch in the foreground is interesting too.

That said there are one or two minor things which could be improved I think. Firstly the image isn't as sharp as I'd expect it to be, partly that's down to slightly excessive JPEG compression, and it may also be down to resizing technique. I tend to use Bicubic resize, and then use a combination of UnsharpMask and HighPass to sharpen my images. Unfortunately there's no magic answer to sharpening, it depends on the original image and the target size... More on that here

I also wonder whether a bit more cropping could improve things - the boat on the left bothers me a bit (the other boats seem to get smaller from right to left, and it's a bit close to the edge of the frame). I also wonder about cropping a bit off the right to compensate.

That said, it's a very pleasant image - thanks for sharing it :)

Hai Tannis, welcome to Jeber. Great looking place you've been. The polarizer worked pretty good imo. I agree with Adrian, a little zoom (or crop) gives an even more interesting composition imo,
About the sharpness, given the focal length and the shutter speed you wouldn't expect a not really sharp shot like this one. This lens is normally really sharp? Otherwise do some experimenting with a tripod to see if handholding the camera is the problem.

A cropped version more or less like Adrian suggested i believe. What do you think?

I've had a look at my original, and I think Adrian is right about the sharpness problem being somewhat related to compression/resizing. The other part of the problem has nothing to do with the lens, it has to do with my eyes not being able to see what is in focus when I'm shooting in the bright sun.

I do like the way the photo looks without the extra boat on the left.

I'll play around with sharpening etc.--thanks for the link Adrian.
