Hi, this is my very first photo I've posted to Blind Pig. As I say in my membership profile I'm a complete beginner, but keen to learn, so all tips and suggestions would be much appreciated. I'm actually reasonably pleased with this shot, and I chose to post it because I don't have enough nerve to post the really shoddy ones just yet!!

Hi Kate - welcome to the Pig! - I like this shot - the shadow of the palms on the fountain is really interesting.

On the criticism side - the sky is over exposed - but I don't think it detracts from the image too much. I don't know how well it would have worked in this situation but a polarising filter might have reduced the glare a bit.

Hi Kate, welcome to Jeber and the Pig. Nice curtain effect created by the fountain. I added more saturation to the shot and darkened the sky in an attempt to bring out more detail in the fountain.
