Well Ben, I like the peacefulness of the scene, but I cropped out the stuff in the foreground and increased saturation and contrast a bit... what do you think?

I like the crop.  In the OP the foreground water is just too distracting.

The saturation/contrast tweaks.  First let me say that what I see on my screen is not necessarily what you see on yours.  (Wonder how long it will be before inexpensive monitor calibration is available?)  But based on the way my monitor is rendering Rev 1 I would say that the new version is a bit 'vivid'.  A slightly less boosted version might have a more peaceful feel.

I was looking for something in the foreground to give some depth to the shot.  The small strip of gras just isn't enough. Maybe this is just another shot that would have worked better in portrait orientation. I'm beginning to believe that a lot of landscapes work best in portrait orientation ;-)
Your crop looks good, although i'm missing the depth i was looking for.

Walt. Your versions colours look unnatural on my montor. (too harsh) I've a LINK to a site where they have a pic to judge your monitors colours
It gives a pic with recognisable scenes to judge the colours.

Ben beautiful shot, very serene.  I did a crop and added a little saturation and darkened the highlights.  I thought about toning down the light spots on the water.
