I agree lovely pano - I've attached a version with a straightened horizon - particularly apparent on the right side. I'm guessing this is a stitch. 10x42 - I think Walt is refering to the dimensions 10" by 42" - which is huge :)

I actually like lens flare some times... in this case it works for me - emphasising the brightness of the day.

i was referirng to the green spot on the left most hill. Is probably the sun reflecting against part of the lens.
The stray light you see coming from the left looks good indeed.

10x42 is the size it's printed at then? Would be interested in the original pixel size.

Yep, it's a stitch from 4 shots.  Hand held, hence the tilt in the horizon - thanks for straightening it. The stitched image is 10" x 42.8", 2000 X 8579 pixels and 49 mb at 200 ppi. The town is indeed Camps Bay. There was a small roadside park - as I recall near the country club on the hill overlooking the town. Unfortunately I didn't notice the flare til I started working with the images and, by then, I was 8000 miles away.

A good workshop by Adrian on distortion - for this I just did a basic stretch in macromedia fireworks. I think the flare could go with a little burning and cloning, but it would be a big job. But if you're going to make one fantastic print from it I think it's worth it.
