| Walt Foster (Walt) Msg: #2 July 5th 2005 15:18:43 | It was a spotlight... We were spotlighting animals near Kruger NP in South Africa - I think it was the same night when I got the eagle owl. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Ali Watters (Ali) Msg: #3 July 5th 2005 20:18:37 | Just wondering - did all the shots taken with spotlight and iso400 come out this well? if not what kind of percentage? No experience in it but I'd have thought more light would have been needed... | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Walt Foster (Walt) Msg: #4 July 6th 2005 12:53:05 | I'm not sure of the candlepower, but it was a VERY powerful spot... so much so that we didn't shine directly on any animal at close range. This guy was only about 4 inches long. The light was bright enough to allow me to autoexpose at 1/125th... I can't give you exact figures, but at short ranges, the spot was as good as - or better than - the on-camera flash and a very high percentage of the shots were good. At longer ranges, especially if I had to zoom, results were much less satisfying. | |||||||||||||||||||||
