Not a great photo, but I love the feeling of being inside this structure that it gives me. This is more a question of what I could do next time to make it better eg what settings might have done a better job?

I don't think I can help much with the "next time" question.  I suspect better lighting would make a big difference.  It might take multiple flashes bouncing around to pull it off.

I find that there are things, "feelings" that I can't capture with a photograph.  Perhaps someone with more skill and vision than I can.  Sometimes I just have to put the camera down and simply 'experience'.
