I'd say, treat this kind of shot as you would a portrait.  Use a shallow DOF to separate your main subject from a busy background.  Perhaps underexposing and using a bit of fill flash to let the front guitar stand out a bit more might also help.

I faked the shallow DOF/fill flash a bit with processing to show you what I'm suggesting.

Probably picking another place to stand might have given a bit more disconnect from the guitars in the back - the red portion of the one really sits inside the horn of the front one.

I like that very much, how in the world did you blur the background like that. It makes a world of difference. I work in elements and I am fairly new to that, I will have to check and see if I can do that. Very cool  Thank You!

I used Elements.  First I selected the foremost guitar with the Selection Brush.  Go View -> Actual Pixels and then zoom in some more so that it's really easy to move the brush along the edge.  I selected the guitar then did a Select -> Inverse to get the background 'live'.

Then I used the Blur Tool and set the strength low, ~10%.  That way I could run it back and forth over the rear area more than the foreground area.  I also used the Sponge Tool to desaturate the colors in the background guitars.

The seperation is awesome. I played once with that in an online class I took for elements but mine was bad, I mean you could see bumps and bad spots all around the edges.  I guess I need to practice that, that is cool  Thanks
