I'll cop to it that I didn't take this, but I WAS there when it was taken.  2 of us near Mt. Baldy only 45 mins (plus the hike) from downtown Los Angeles.  I'm curious what "you" would do to help this picture - the sheep is difficult to see - this image is full size at this resolution.

Hi Dave,
I cropped this a lot, as you can see. I think it helps focus on the sheep, while leaving him as part of the scenery. The quality is totaly shot, but you might have more luck with the original - or is 187Kb all there is?

The other option I saw was this one, which makes it look as though he's blocking the path.

Then I got to wondering what sort of 'king of the castle' he'd make.

Dave - the image you posted is less than 1 meg - 960 x 720.  Is that the size of the original?

BTW, I think all three of Andy's crops work.  The 'king of the mountain' shot makes him a bit more intimidating IMO.

Yes, unfortunately it is the original.  It was probably taken in 2001 with an Olympus that did have a zoom (dunno the model), but may have been 3mp or lower.  It's so stinkin' rare to see this sight even without a camera handy that I'm pleased to have hung on to it.  As I said, I was there, but the other guy took the pic.

Hi Dave,
Seeing that Mr Sheep is easily lost in ths scene I did a crop to place him in the center.  I used the trees to frame him in on the vertical and left some of the forwground and background in an attempt to preserve some reference to the largess of the scene.  I also did an auto color adj after typing it on my own but I am not sure I am pleased with that change.

Oh my, I have no idea what happened to the quality of my edit.  It was much better until I resized to a min of 480pix.  So sorry about that, hmmm, what to do.

And this is what I was trying to make work... don't think there is anything that postprocessing can do to get this sheep more prominently in the shot.

LOL!  Can't miss a HOT PINK Sheep!  Too funny, still laughing.

I do like how he stands out in Ali's second version.
