Hi Ben,
    interesting place to be, is it still a functioning prison?  With the wire and the bleak concrete there's a definite feeling of being trapped. My concern with the image is twofold: neither the building nor the wire are in focus - I think one needs to be for it to really work; the building isn't quite straight. I can see that that could add to the sense of being crushed/oppressed by it but I'm not sure that it works as it is.
What an interesting place to see - you have more of the inside online anywhere?

Thanks for the remarks Andy. You're right about the angling to the right of the building. If i PP i'll correct that. The focus issue has me puzzling. To me the wall looks in focus, and also the wire when looking at a 100% crop. The tower is a bit soft.
Could it be due the fact that Nikon doesn't do much in camera sharpening?

The Robbeneiland prison isn't functional any more. Has become a major touristattraction, with former inmates as guides.
