| Camille (cnut) Msg: #2 July 4th 2005 08:55:04 | The only thing that I could think of to make this great image better was to see a bit more detail on the head and bill of the bird. I selected them and then added a bit of fill flash. |

| Walt Foster (Walt) Msg: #3 July 4th 2005 08:57:48 | That helps quite a bit... thanks | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Bob Wallace (BobTrips) Msg: #4 July 4th 2005 18:25:43 | Walt, give some thought to cloning out the two blades of grass at the back of the bird. They're OOF and distracting to me. Maybe take out the piece that laps his wing. The fill flash helps quite a bit. There's a bit of distortion around the edge of the bird. Is that over sharpening or Jpeg distortion? Whatever, it could be cleaned up if it shows in the version that counts. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Ben Wouters (baw) Msg: #5 July 4th 2005 23:54:43 | Walt, the image details say Tripod - no. Are you that steady, or had you the camera stabilised in another way? | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Walt Foster (Walt) Msg: #6 July 5th 2005 11:05:30 | I almost always use the Canon 100-400 with image stabilization on my wildlife shots... frequently I'm in a rover or, as in this case, a boat where a tripod would be very difficult to use... but the IS works really well. Of course the lens also gives me an effective 640 at the long end... which also helps! | |||||||||||||||||||||
